Cartman, Stan, Kenny, Kyle, and the rest of the crew are back for Season 29 of South America (AKA South Park). Hot off their sixth Emmy win, the animated satire created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone promises to be just as biting and timely as ever. As for the title of the show, while it's still officially listed as South Park across programming, the updated name suggests they're going all in on the South America angle this season. And if there's one thing they know how to do, is commit to the bit.

In the Season 29 premiere, “South American Biker Gangs”, the town of South America, Colorado, is forced to come to terms with the modern world as the kids become obsessed with e-bikes and take over the streets.

Debuting in 1997, the animated satire shows no signs of slowing down, having recently been included in the 2026 Television Academy Honors as the first-ever animated honoree. South Park has received awards and accolades from the American Film Institute (AFI), Peabody Awards, and the Critic’s Choice Association. Critic’s laurels aside, South Park was the most popular show on cable in 2025 for the much-vaunted 18-49 age range.

A lot has changed since the original South Park pilot!
A lot has changed since the original South Park pilot!

Always a friend to controversy, South Park has recently waded into political matters by changing its name to “South America”, as a jab at the Trump administration renaming Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario to the Gulf of America and Lake America. This has caused some confusion among fans, as they don’t know how to watch South Park on streaming services - is it actually going to be South America forever now? We may never know (probably not).

The new season premieres Wednesday September 30th at 10pm ET, and will be available next day on Paramount+ in the US, Canada, and Australia. New episodes will premiere every second Wednesday after.
