This South Korean Netflix Film Is Up for an Oscar. And Its New Trailer Proves Why
The trailer for Lee Chang-dong’s Possible Love has been released, and it’s giving us all the feels.

Love gets complicated when the life you built starts looking different from the life you imagined. That tension sits at the heart of Possible Love, the new South Korean drama from acclaimed director Lee Chang-dong.
The film has been selected as South Korea’s official entry for International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards, putting it firmly on the awards-season radar. It also marks Lee’s first film in eight years, following acclaimed titles including Burning, Poetry, and Secret Sunshine.
Possible Love follows two married couples whose lives collide after documentary filmmaker Ye-ji (Cho Yeo-jeong) begins filming laid-off workers. Mi-ok (Jeon Do-yeon) lives with her laid-off husband, Ho-seok (Sul Kyung-gu), and their young son, while Ye-ji and her husband Sang-woo (Zo In-sung) lead a far more affluent life. When Mi-ok becomes part of Ye-ji’s documentary, she grows closer to her and finds herself drawn toward the mysterious Sang-woo.
With four of South Korea’s biggest stars at its center, the film looks poised to turn quiet domestic tension into something much bigger (and probably very messy).

Possible Love opens in select theaters October 23 before streaming worldwide on Netflix November 6.
