Los Angeles is often synonymous with glitz, glamour, and star-studded streets—but Seth Rogen’s Los Angeles looks a little different. After nearly three decades in the city, the actor, writer, and producer behind hits like The Studio and Platonic has developed a love for the city’s hidden corners, quirky haunts, and offbeat vibes. Forget the Hollywood Walk of Fame; Rogen’s L.A. is all about character, authenticity, and maybe a little chaos.

  1. Grand Central Market

First on his list is Grand Central Market, the century-old food hall in downtown Los Angeles. Fans of Platonic might recognize it from Season 1, where Rogen’s character had a business meeting while devouring the famed bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich from Eggslut.

“That’s a place I bring people from out of town,” Rogen says. “It captures a cool kind of contrast of Los Angeles… great Korean food, Mexican food, all in one place.” Beyond its TV appearances, Rogen appreciates the bustling energy and the chance to tip generously for sandwiches that once helped keep Eggslut afloat.

  1. Holbox

For a more refined culinary experience, Rogen recommends Holbox, a Michelin-starred Mexican and seafood restaurant tucked in the Mercado la Paloma food court in Historic South Central. “I go there with my wife, and we bring friends from out of town, especially Canadians,” he says. While Baja tacos to go are tempting, Rogen prefers the tasting menu, savoring the chef Gilberto Cetina’s spicy, fresh aguachiles. “They’re really, really, really good,” he admits.

  1. Largo at the Coronet

Comedy has a special place in Rogen’s heart, and he often returns to Largo at the Coronet, the legendary West Hollywood venue. Though he never performed there himself; he wasn’t “good enough” back in the day, he’s been in the audience for shows by Zach Galifianakis, Sarah Silverman, Larry David, and Bob Odenkirk. “It’s intimate, the talent is elite, and I still go there,” he says. For Rogen, it’s a reminder of how comedy shapes the city’s culture, and keeps him laughing.

  1. Franklin Canyon Reservoir

Sometimes, Rogen just wants to escape the city lights entirely. That’s when he heads to Franklin Canyon Reservoir, nestled in the hills behind the Beverly Hills Hotel. “It’s a beautiful drive through the hills,” he says. The 605-acre park, with its lake, grasslands, duck ponds, and trails, feels worlds away from urban chaos. “You kind of feel like you’re just in a lake in the middle of the canyons, but you’re right outside Beverly Hills,” he laughs.

  1. The Grove LA

Finally, there’s The Grove LA, the bustling Fairfax District shopping complex. On paper, it might seem like a tourist trap—double-decker trolleys, retail chains, and live entertainment—but Rogen sees it differently. He shops at the Apple Store, catches films at AMC 14, and, above all, hangs out at the adjacent farmers’ market. “There’s really good food there… a little French market, wine, oysters,” he says. It’s a slice of L.A. that blends local life with just a hint of spectacle.

Whether it’s grabbing a sandwich, enjoying haute Mexican cuisine, laughing at comedy, hiking a serene canyon, or strolling a lively market, Seth Rogen’s favorite L.A. spots show a city lived fully, humor intact, and taste buds delighted. It’s the kind of L.A. most visitors miss—but the one Rogen calls home.
